There is a wide and varied range of Aboriginal information resources relating to the nearly 250,000 First Nations, Métis and Inuit people in Alberta. The following information is offered as a sampling of the websites, publications, contacts, facts and maps that will be of interest to Aboriginal people, communities and stakeholders.
Aboriginal Community Profiles (2006 Census): Searchable Database
This searchable database contains profiles on 34 First Nations and 5 Métis Settlements in Alberta. The profiles were produced by Statistics Canada using information collected during the 2006 Census of Canada. Included is information on: location, population by age and sex, children and families, Aboriginal language, labour force participation, occupations, earnings, income and housing.
